The Gold American Eagle BU coins have a clear definition between the two most popular weights and the other two weights. Of the four weights of 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz gold, only two of those weights have ever been the single best-selling coin in a given year. The first several years in the series were dominated by the 1 oz gold coin. During two different periods of its history, the 1/10 oz Gold Eagle was the best-selling coin.

That includes the recent history of the coin. Between 2014 and 2019, the 1/10 oz Gold Eagle was the best-selling coin in each year. In fact, the 1/10 oz and 1 oz gold coins also hold all of the top five mintage records in the program. The 1/10 oz Gold Eagle has the highest single-year mintage at 2.75 million coins in 1999, with the 1 oz gold coin holding the next four highest mintages.

The obverse side of 2021 1/10 oz Gold American Eagles depicts Lady Liberty in front-facing relief. The image was created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens and featured on the Gold $20 Double Eagle from 1907 to 1933. In the design, Liberty walks forward with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left hand.

On the reverse field of the 2021 Gold American Eagles is a design with a family of American bald eagles. Created in 1986 by Miley Busiek for this series, the image shows a male eagle flying over the nest as a female eagle and a hatchling shelter in the nest.

2021 1/10 oz Gold American Eagles available here come with a Mint State 70 certification. The PCGS issues an MS70 grade to coins that showcase full, original mint luster and present with no detracting flaws. First Strike labels are for coins received within 30 days of release by the US Mint to be graded by the PCGS.
