The designs released in the Lunar Series III collection were created by Ing Ing Jong. Ms. Jong was hired by the Perth Mint as an artist in 2011 and within two years was assigned to work on Lunar Series coins. Her first design was the Year of the Snake in the 2013 release of Lunar Series II coins. She contributed to the designs in the Lunar Series III debut in 2020 and continues to contribute with the Lunar Ox images in the 2021 Lunar Series III release.

All of the 2021 1 oz Silver Australian Lunar Ox Gilded Coins available to you in this listing come with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity from the Perth Mint. Each coin is individually housed inside of a plastic capsule. These coins have a thin layer of 24-karat gold applied to the reverse. The gold is not thick enough or voluminous enough in content to drastically alter the metallic value of the coins, but it does create impressive visuals with a contrast between gold animals and a silver background field.

On the obverse side of 2021 Silver Australian Lunar Ox Coins, you will find an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is shown here in right-profile relief in a design that is the sixth-generation depiction of the Queen on Australian coins. It replaced the Ian Rank-Broadley bust of the Queen on Lunar Series coins in 2020 with the debut of the Lunar Series III coins.

The reverse field of 2021 1 oz Silver Australian Lunar Ox Gilded Coins includes an image of two oxen. The animals are shown standing together, an adult ox and a young calf, near the overhanging branch of a cherry blossom tree. The 24-karat gold layer is applied to this side only on the bodies of the ox and calf.
