One of the more exciting releases in the silver bullion market each year is the Silver Chiwoo Cheonwang. This silver bullion medal from KOMSCO was introduced in 2016 and has made a splash each year since with its limited mintage figures and ever-changing reverse design elements. Now, 2021 1 oz Silver South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwangs are available to you for purchase online at Silver.com.

Medal Highlights:

  • Medals ship to you inside plastic flips, acrylic tubes of 25 medals, or boxes of 250 medals!
  • Sixth year of availability for the Silver Chiwoo Cheonwang Series!
  • Mintage limited to 40,000 medals only!
  • Consists of One Troy ounce of .999 fine silver in BU condition.
  • The obverse features Do ggae bi on the shield of Chiwoo.
  • On the reverse is Chiwoo banging the drums of war with the Zi:Sin by his side.
  • Latent security feature on the obverse.

Since the 2016 debut of the Chiwoo Cheonwang Series, KOMSCO has offered a new depiction of Chiwoo on the reverse side of the medals. Available in both gold and silver, these medals all have the same designs each year regardless of metal type or weight. However, that reverse design does change each year.

The designs in the series initially showed a progression for Chiwoo’s character from the preparations for war to the actual battle itself. That initial run culminated in a design showing Chiwoo as he basked in the glory of victory. In 2021, we see Chiwoo preparing for the next battle as he faces a new enemy threatening his kingdom.

The obverse side of all 2021 Silver Chiwoo Cheonwangs features a depiction of Do ggae bi on the battle shield of Chiwoo Cheonwang. This design shows the grotesque image of Do ggae bi’s face with its prominent brow, bull horns on its head, the tusks of a boar, and a smile on its face. This side of the medals also includes a latent security feature at the bottom.

On the reverse field of 2021 1 oz Silver Chiwoo Cheonwangs is a new design for the year that shows Chiwoo preparing for the next battle. Here, he is beating the drums of war as the 12 Guardians, also known as the Zi:Sin, assemble around him to help defeat the forces of evil threatening the kingdom.

These 2021 1 oz Silver South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwangs are available individually in plastic flips. Multiples come in tubes of 25 medals or boxes of 250 medals. All of these specimens are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
