The Silver American Eagle has seen many ups and downs in its demand since 1986. After initial interest following its debut in 1986, the series saw an extended period of lackluster demand through the 1990s. The 2010s marked one of the highest, sustained periods of demand in program history. More recently, the 2020 and 2021 issues have experienced intense demand for a number of reasons. Today, 2021 (P) 1 oz Silver American Eagles are available to you online at Silver.com in perfect condition.

From 1999 to 2000, the Philadelphia Mint issued the annual BU Silver Eagle coins from the United States Mint. As of 2001, the coins have been predominantly issued by the West Point Mint branch facility. However, starting in 2011, strong demand for the coins required the US Mint to enlist other branch facilities to provide supplemental coining assistance. In the face of surging demand and COVID-19 restrictions on staffing, the Philadelphia Mint joined the San Francisco Mint in providing emergency coining assistance to meet demand in 2020 and 2021.
All of these 2021 (P) 1 oz Silver American Eagles are available from the Philadelphia Mint with a perfect certification from the PCGS. A Mint State 70 coin has its full, original mint luster and features no detracting flaws on the design strike or background field of the coins. In addition, the First Strike label present in the slab indicates these coins were received for grading inside the initial 30-day window following release from the US Mint.
On the obverse side of 2021 (P) Silver American Eagles is the portrait of Lady Liberty known as Walking Liberty. Designed by Adolph A. Weinman in 1916, it features Liberty in left-profile relief as she walks toward the sun on the horizon near a mountain. She reaches out with her right hand as her left carries branches of oak and laurel. The American flag is draped around her figure.
The reverse field of the 2021 (P) 1 oz Silver Eagle features the heraldic eagle design for the final time. This version of the heraldic eagle was created in 1986 by John Mercanti. It depicts a powerful bald eagle in front-facing relief supporting the US national shield while clutching the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace.
