The 2021 release of Silver American Eagles at the United States Mint included Type 1 coins and Type 2 coins. Type 1 is a term that applies to 2021-dated Silver Eagles with the original reverse, while Type 2 refers to 2021-dated Silver Eagles with the new reverse. The Burnished Silver Eagle, however, was not released with a Type 1 design in 2021. It is only available this year with the new design element on the reverse. Now, 2021-W 1 oz Burnished Silver American Eagle Type 2 Coins are available to you for purchase online from Silver.com in perfect condition.

The new Type 2 design, which will be the only reverse image produced on Silver Eagles starting in 2022, comes from Emily Damstra. Ms. Damstra is a veteran coin designer with broad experience working with North American-based mints. She created six designs in total for the Royal Canadian Mint in its Canadian Wildlife and Birds of Prey Series and has also created designs for the America the Beautiful Series at the United States Mint. This is just a small taste of the work she’s done in recent years.
Her all-new bald eagle design on the reverse of the 2021 Silver American Eagles was one of more than 30 possible designs submitted to the US Mint in 2020. Her artwork was chosen from this group to represent the Silver Eagle Series for the future.
Walking Liberty continues to feature on the obverse of 2021-W Burnished Silver American Eagle Type 2 Coins. This effigy of Liberty was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman and shows Liberty in left-profile relief walking toward the sun. For the release of Type 2 versions of the coins, his original AW signature mark has been included in the inscriptions on this side of the coins.
The all-new bald eagle design is found in the reverse field of 2021-W 1 oz Burnished Silver Eagle Type 2 Coins. This depiction shows the bald eagle as it flies into view with its wings extended back behind its frame while clutching a large oak branch in its talons.
These 2021-W 1 oz Burnished Silver American Eagle Type 2 Coins are perfect specimens. The NGC assigns a Mint State 70 grade to coins that showcase full, original mint luster and come with no detracting flaws of any kind. The First Day of Issue label means the coins were received for grading within 24 hours of release from the mint.
