The United States Mint plans on not only releasing a new design on the reverse of its Gold Eagle and Silver Eagle coins in 2021, but also plans to release two versions of its popular coins. The first several months of 2021 will feature the original reverse designs on both coins until roughly mid-summer. At this point, the US Mint will pause production of 2021 coins to swap out the dies for the new reverse design, and then resume coining 2021-dated coins in both collections with the new reverse designs on the coins.

Created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, it depicts Liberty walking away from Washington D.C. with the US Capitol Building visible behind her and rays of sunshine framing her figure. She strides forward confidently lifting a torch overhead in her right hand and carrying an olive branch in her left.
The reverse field of 2021-W Proof Gold American Eagles in this Four-Coin Set comes with Miley Busiek’s bald eagle design. In use for the final time, it depicts a female eagle in the nest with a hatchling as a male eagle flies overhead.
