In the United States, Father’s Day was established as a day to honor dads in 1910. It is set on the third Sunday of June each year. While the celebration in the United States is just over 100 years old, Catholic countries in Europe have been celebrating dads since the Middle Ages. These Catholic societies have celebrated dads as a part of Saint Joseph’s Day for hundreds of years.

All of the 2022 1 oz Silver American Eagles in this product listing are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and are sealed in these clamshell cards. The card has a core of plastic around the coin and a decorative card around it. The card is navy blue in color and offers a greeting of Happy Father’s Day on the front.

On the obverse of 2022 Silver American Eagles is an image of Lady Liberty. This design was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman and was first used on the US half dollar from that year until 1947. The design captures the full-length figure of Liberty in left-profile relief as she walks toward the sun with her right hand extended and her left carrying both oak and laurel branches.

The reverse side of the 2022 1 oz Silver Eagle comes with a depiction of the American bald eagle. This new vision of the bald eagle debuted on the Silver Eagles in 2021 at the midway point of the year and makes its first full-year debut in 2022. The image shows the eagle sweeping down into view with its wings flexed and its talons clutching a large oak branch.
