The Proof Silver Eagle is available to collectors each year from the United States Mint. The traditional production process results in coins with frosted designs on mirrored fields. This visual contrast between the two facets of the coin makes for a beautiful piece. Certified versions are those that have been found to feature few or no flaws. Today, 2022-W 1 oz Proof Silver American Eagles are available online at Silver.com in perfect condition.

In 2021, the United States Mint introduced the first-ever design change in the history of the Silver Eagles. Now that 2022 is upon us, the US Mint offers only the new reverse design on the coins. This design comes from Emily Damstra, a member of the United States Mint Artistic Infusion Program.

All of these 2022-W 1 oz Proof Silver American Eagles are available in perfect condition with a plastic slab from the PCGS. Coins in this condition have full, original mint luster and bear no detractions of any kind. Each coin also has two additional designations. DCAM stands for deep-cameo and refers to the presence of strong, frosted designs with deeply-mirrored, clear fields. First Day of Issue is a designation for coins received within 24 hours of release for grading.

On the obverse of 2022-W Proof Silver Eagles is a depiction of Liberty. Designed in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman, this visual shows the full-length figure of Liberty in left-profile relief as she walks toward the sun on the horizon. This design includes the American flag draped around her figure with the branches of oak and laurel in her left hand.

The reverse side of the 2022-W 1 oz Proof Silver Eagle comes with the new bald eagle design from Emily Damstra. First issued in 2021, the image shows the bald eagle with its wings swept up as it carries an oak branch in its talons.
