Embark on a journey into the past with the Quarter Eagle, the smallest denomination in the Pre-33 US Eagle Series, featuring a $2.50 face value. Dating back to 1796, these coins narrate the tale of the United States from its early days through the Roaring 20s. Silver.com is thrilled to present the enduring Pre-33 $2.50 Gold Liberty Quarter Eagle Coins for collectors and enthusiasts.

Coin Highlights:

  • Securely housed in PCGS or NGC plastic slabs for protection!
  • Liberty Gold Quarter Eagles minted from 1840-1907!
  • Limited availability for certified coins!
  • Consists of .121 Troy ounces of actual gold content.
  • The face value of $2.50 (USD) is fully backed by the US government.
  • Graded Mint State 66 by the Professional Coin Grading Service or Numismatic Guaranty Corporation.
  • Features Lady Liberty on the obverse.
  • Showcases the heraldic eagle on the reverse.
  • Crafted by the acclaimed Christian Gobrecht.

Gold Liberty Quarter Eagles entered production in 1840 and continued annually until 1907, minted by various facilities, including Philadelphia, the now-defunct Charlotte, New Orleans, and Dahlonega Mints, as well as the San Francisco Mint. Despite intermittent pauses in production, the Liberty Head design program remained a constant.

All Pre-33 $2.50 Gold Liberty Quarter Eagle Coins at Silver.com are in Mint State 66 condition. These coins boast above-average luster with minimal contact marks, usually no more than three or four. Under magnification, you might observe a few light hairlines and one or two light scuff marks.

Gobrecht’s elegant portrayal of Lady Liberty graces the obverse side of the $2.50 Gold Liberty Quarter Eagle. Liberty is depicted in a left-profile bust, adorned with a coronet crown and surrounded by a ring of 13 stars. The date mark is discreetly placed beneath Liberty’s bust.

Flip to the reverse side, and you’ll find Gobrecht’s rendition of the heraldic eagle on Pre-33 Liberty Quarter Eagles. The bald eagle takes center stage, facing forward and accompanied by the US national shield, the arrows of war, and the olive branch of peace. Essential details such as the nation of issue and face value are engraved on this side.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
