Customers; Please note that these coins will be certified by the PCGS OR NGC to be in MS63 condition. Coins will be from years of our choice, all of which will range from 1908 to 1929.

The $2.50 Indian Gold Quarter Eagle Coin was first released by the US Mint in 1908. It enjoyed over two decades of circulation until its discontinuation in 1929, when World War I decreased the both the value and circulation of gold currency. Every Quarter Eagle in this series is composed of .12094 oz of gold. Each coin has also been evaluated by either the NGC or the PCGS with an MS63 (Mint State 63) Grade. An MS63 grade indicates that the coin is in acceptable condition despite the presence of small contact marks. All coins have been kept sealed in their NGC or PCGS certified slabs to prevent any damage.

Because of its distinct recessed design, the Indian gold quarter eagle is a highly valuable collectible. The term “recessed” refers to the its sunken images. Unlike most coins, which have raised images, this piece of currency features images that have been engraved into the coin to achieve a sense of depth in the artwork. The Indian Gold Quarter Eagle Coin would be the last piece of currency ever produced by the United States Mint to possess a recessed design.

The artwork itself is a tribute to life in early America. Proudly displayed on the obverse of the coin is the profile of a noble Native American chief wearing his traditional war bonnet. Encircling his portrait is a border of thirteen stars in honor of the original thirteen colonies. Also inscribed along the edge of the coin is the word “Liberty” accompanied by the coin’s mintage year.

On the reverse of the coin is our national bird; the bald eagle. It sits perched on top of a bundle of arrows that are entwined with an olive branch. Appearing on the left side of the eagle are the words “E Pluribus Unum,” while the phrase “In God We Trust” appears to its right. Our nation’s name and coin’s denomination are printed above and below the eagle respectively.

With its recessed images and unique denomination, the $2.50 Indian Gold Quarter Eagle Coin serves as an impressive addition to any collection or investment portfolio.
