As the 2006 edition of the Silver Eagle Coin series, this stunning piece of currency marks the series’ 20th year of production. Originally released by the United States Mint in 1986, the silver eagle coin has since become our nation’s official silver bullion coin. All silver eagle coins are minted from 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver, making them ideal for IRA contributions. Furthermore, every silver coin featured in this particular collection is offered in uncirculated condition.

Coin Highlights:

  • Contains 1 oz of .999 pure silver.
  • Minted by the United States Mint
  • Carries a $1 face value backed by the US government.
  • Individual coins ship in plastic sleeves, multiples of 20 ship in mint-sealed tubes and multiples of 500 ship in monster boxes.

Depicted on the coin’s obverse is artist Adolph Weinman’s celebrated Walking Liberty design. In this image, Lady Liberty is classically attired in a flowing toga that bears the stars and stripes of our nation’s flag. She is portrayed passing through a vacant field with rays of sunlight emanating in the background. In one arm, she carries a bundle of oak and laurel branches, while the other one extends before her in a welcoming gesture. Weinman’s rendition of Lady Liberty serves as a symbol of our country’s generosity and charity towards those who come to America in search of opportunities.

On the coin’s reverse is our nation’s honorary emblem, the Great Seal of the United States. It consists of a spread winged eagle upholding an oversized shield as its armor. In its opposing talons, it balances an olive branch with a set of arrows. These items represent both the peace we hope to maintain within our country as well as the protective means we must use to preserve that peace. Appearing above our national bird is a triangle formation of thirteen stars to commemorate the original thirteen colonies of the United States. Lastly, encircling these images is a border of text, which includes our country’s name along with the coin’s weight and denomination.

With its inspiring and patriotic artwork, the 2006 Silver American Eagle Coin offers a moving tribute to the core beliefs and ideals of this great nation.
